Bound by Parramatta River at its south and Lane Cove River National Park at its north, the City of Ryde is located midway between the Sydney CBD and Parramatta, and comprises 16 suburbs.
It is a direct-route 20-minute drive from either place and, outside peak hour, only 40 minutes from Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport. Ryde’s location makes it the ideal place for businesses of all sizes, with easy access to Sydney’s main motorways.
The City has a population of just over 105,000 and offers employment to around 40,000 people in large corporations, based mainly in Macquarie Park, small to medium enterprises and countless micro- and home-based businesses.
It has one of Sydney’s finest Universities, Macquarie Uni, Sydney’s largest Community College, Macquarie Community College and three TAFE Colleges, most branches of the CSIRO and, arguably the densest concentration of electronic and pharmaceutical research, manufacturing and distribution organisations in Australia.
In addition, there are eight distinct retail and commercial areas, each with its own commercial personality.
There are currently more than 13,000 businesses operating in the City and the potential for new business through existing commercial/industrial zonings presents an exciting challenge for future growth.
